Who we are

Meet Brent Parish, Founder

At Summitscape, our work is driven by a simple mission: to provide the clear, expert technical guidance our clients need to truly succeed. This mission is an extension of my own journey, one defined by continuous learning, dedication, and a genuine passion for helping others.

My wife is my incredible business partner, and together we are blessed with six amazing adult children. My approach to business is rooted in my faith and a deep appreciation for the unique career path I've been given.

A Career Forged by Curiosity and Capability

Fom a young age, technology has been my focus. I taught myself to program in Basic on our home computer at age 13—an early indicator of a lifelong, self-driven technical pursuit.

In my early career, my dedication quickly resulted in rapid promotions across various fields, including management roles in a fast-paced restaurant chain and a staff coordinator position at a recovery center. This early experience instilled a deep appreciation for effective teamwork and mentorship.

Military Service and Defense Technology

My expertise sharpened significantly during my time in the Army as a Terrain Analyst. My curiosity and commitment led me to become the platoon's self-taught Systems Administrator. My capabilities were often sought out by units outside my command structure, a true testament to my resourcefulness. I was honored to be selected to:

  • Create the digital map used for the Bosnian Peace Talks (Dayton Accord).

  • Work directly with organizations like Army Space Command, Joint Task Force, and XVIII Airborne Corps to develop and deploy new defense technologies.

From Startup to Corporate Leadership

Upon leaving the Army, I joined a startup in Cambridge, Massachusetts, quickly advancing from Systems Administrator to VP of Network Services in just two years, where I focused on hiring and mentoring a strong team of eight.

Following the dot-com era, I took on a foundational role as one of two system administrators responsible for deploying and maintaining the Unix systems supporting the world's largest intranet portal for General Motors.

My tenure at the international company Cognex saw me take on a wide variety of technical and leadership roles, including Systems Administration, managing the Helpdesk, and leading the Core DevOps team. Highlights from this time include:

  • Successfully migrating the datacenter from Unix to Linux.

  • Building a novel web application mapping system for on-campus resource location.

  • Transitioning the Helpdesk to a robust, customized system that significantly enhanced service.

Most recently, I served as the sole IT representative at a rapidly growing company within a tightly regulated gaming vertical market. I managed their entire cloud infrastructure, led annual security audits, established the Helpdesk, and authored comprehensive company policies—proving the ability to manage complex, high-stakes IT environments single-handedly.

This history, built on a foundation of self-taught skill, rapid advancement, and a genuine desire to serve, is what I bring to every client at Summitscape. I look forward to working with you to achieve your own success.
